A darkly comic take on the run-and-gun genre, sending small squads of named soldiers into cartoonish battles across dozens of short missions. Soldiers who survive missions gain rank and carry over to the next fight, while the ones who don’t get a small cross added to the game’s memorial hillside — a surprisingly pointed anti-war statement wrapped in bouncy, upbeat presentation.
