Amiga.Club is a community built by and for people who enjoy the Amiga platform. Whether you’re restoring classic hardware, writing new software, creating pixel art, preserving history, or simply discovering the Amiga for the first time, you’re welcome here.
Our goal is to create a friendly, knowledgeable, and respectful place where members can learn, collaborate, and share their passion.
These Community Guidelines explain the spirit of our community. While our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy define the legal rules, these guidelines describe how we encourage members to interact with one another every day.
Our Community Values
We believe our community is strongest when members:

Be Respectful
Everyone has different levels of experience.
Some members have owned Amigas since the 1980s.
Others may have started using emulators last week.
Treat every member with patience and respect.
Disagreements are normal.
Personal attacks are not.
Instead of saying:
“That’s stupid.”
Try saying:
“I see it differently because…”
Constructive conversations help everyone learn.
Welcome New Members
Remember what it felt like to be new.
If someone asks a question that’s been answered before:
- Offer helpful guidance.
- Share useful links.
- Avoid mocking beginners.
- Encourage learning.
Today’s beginner may become tomorrow’s expert.
Keep Discussions Friendly
Healthy debates are encouraged.
Arguments that become personal are not.
Please avoid:
- Name-calling
- Insults
- Harassment
- Mocking others
- Flame wars
- Trolling
- Deliberately provoking arguments
If a discussion becomes heated, focus on the topic rather than the person.
Stay On Topic
Help keep discussions organized.
Before creating a new topic:
- Search the forums.
- Choose the appropriate category.
- Use descriptive titles.
- Include enough information for others to help.
If a conversation naturally changes direction, consider creating a new discussion.
Share Your Knowledge
One of the greatest strengths of the Amiga community is its willingness to help others.
Consider sharing:
- Tutorials
- Repair tips
- Programming techniques
- Hardware projects
- Restoration guides
- Game reviews
- Historical information
- Original software
- Artwork
- Music
- Documentation
Your experience may help someone around the world.
Credit Original Creators
Whenever possible:
- Credit developers.
- Credit artists.
- Credit musicians.
- Credit photographers.
- Credit authors.
- Link to original projects.
Respecting creators helps preserve the history of the Amiga platform.
Share Software Responsibly
Amiga.Club encourages preservation, development, and sharing where legally appropriate.
Before uploading software, ask yourself:
- Do I have permission to distribute this?
- Is it freeware?
- Is it open source?
- Is it public domain?
- Am I the original author?
- Does the license allow redistribution?
If what you’re submitting includes adult-themed content typical of
certain historical software (see our Acceptable Use Policy), flag it
accordingly during submission so it displays correctly with the
appropriate notice. Do not submit content prohibited under our
Acceptable Use Policy regardless of how it is flagged.
If you are unsure, don’t upload it.
When possible, include:
- Version number
- Release date
- Documentation
- License information
- Installation instructions
- Source code (if available)
Help others understand exactly what you’re sharing.
Keep Downloads Safe
Please help protect fellow members.
Before uploading files:
- Scan them for malware.
- Test them if possible.
- Describe known issues.
- Clearly identify beta or experimental software.
Never intentionally upload harmful software.
Respect Intellectual Property
We appreciate software preservation, but we also respect creators.
Do not knowingly upload:
- Commercial software without permission
- Copyrighted ROMs
- Pirated games
- Cracked commercial software
- Licensed operating system files
- Copyrighted documentation without authorization
If you’re unsure about a file’s legal status, ask a moderator before uploading it.
Keep Profiles Appropriate
Your profile represents you within the community.
Please choose:
- A respectful username.
- An appropriate avatar.
- Accurate profile information (as much or as little as you’re comfortable sharing).
Do not impersonate other members, developers, companies, or Amiga.Club staff.
Private Messages
Private messages should remain respectful.
Do not use messaging to:
- Harass others.
- Spam members.
- Send scams.
- Pressure people into transactions.
- Circumvent moderator decisions.
If someone asks you to stop contacting them, please respect their wishes.
Self-Promotion
We’re happy to see members share:
- Open-source projects
- Hardware builds
- Games
- Utilities
- Tutorials
- Videos
- Podcasts
- Blogs
- Community events
However, please avoid turning discussions into advertisements.
Share because it’s relevant—not because you’re trying to market something.
Reporting Problems
Every member helps keep Amiga.Club welcoming.
Please report:
- Spam
- Harassment
- Malware
- Copyright concerns
- Offensive content
- Fake accounts
- Security issues
Do not engage in public arguments over moderation decisions.
Let moderators investigate fairly.
Moderation
Our moderators are volunteers who work to keep the community organized, welcoming, and safe.
Moderators may:
- Move topics
- Lock discussions
- Remove spam
- Edit titles for clarity
- Remove harmful content
- Issue warnings
- Suspend accounts
- Ban repeat offenders
Moderation decisions are made in good faith for the benefit of the community.
If you disagree with a decision, contact us respectfully through the proper channels rather than creating public disputes.
