1. Purpose

Amiga.Club (“Amiga.Club,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is dedicated to creating a welcoming, respectful, and knowledgeable community for Amiga enthusiasts around the world.

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) explains the standards of conduct expected from every member using https://amiga.club. It supplements our Terms of Service and applies to all visitors, registered members, moderators, administrators, and anyone using our services.

By using Amiga.Club, you agree to follow this Acceptable Use Policy.

2. Respect Others

Treat every member with courtesy and respect.

Healthy discussion and disagreement are encouraged, but you may not:

  • Harass, bully, or intimidate another member.
  • Engage in personal attacks or insults.
  • Threaten violence or encourage harm.
  • Stalk another user.
  • Share another person’s private information without permission.
  • Repeatedly provoke arguments or intentionally inflame discussions (“trolling”).
  • Encourage others to harass members on or off the Website.

Debate ideas—not people.

3. Community Standards

Members are expected to contribute positively to the community.

Please:

  • Stay on topic whenever possible.
  • Search before creating duplicate discussions.
  • Use descriptive titles.
  • Post in the appropriate forum or group.
  • Be patient with new members.
  • Help others learn.
  • Credit original authors whenever possible.

4. Prohibited Content

The following content is prohibited:

    • Illegal material.
    • Malware or malicious software.
    • Viruses, trojans, ransomware, spyware, or similar software.
    • Content designed to compromise computer security.
    • Hate speech.
    • Terrorist or extremist content.
    • Child sexual abuse material.
    • Non-consensual intimate images.
    • Fraud or scams.
    • Phishing attempts.
    • Identity theft.
    • Instructions for criminal activity.
    • Deliberately deceptive content intended to harm others.

4A. Age-Gated Mature Content

Some historical Amiga and demoscene software from the era this site
preserves includes adult-themed content (for example, certain gambling,
card game, or demo productions originally marketed to adult audiences).
This is a distinct category from the material prohibited in Section 4
above and is not automatically prohibited.

Content of this nature must be clearly flagged as such at the time of
submission. Flagged content is:

– Hidden from default browsing and search results.
– Not visible on any archive or listing page unless a visitor has
explicitly confirmed they wish to view mature content.
– Displayed behind a confirmation notice on its individual page until
that confirmation has been given.

This confirmation is a self-reported acknowledgment, not a verified age
check, and members are expected to use it honestly.

Content that includes material prohibited under Section 4 — including
child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate images, or any
other content listed there — remains prohibited regardless of any
mature-content flag, and flagging content does not exempt it from any
other provision of this Policy or our other policies.

Any such content may be removed immediately and reported to the appropriate authorities where required by law.

5. Software Upload Rules

Members uploading software must ensure that:

  • They have the legal right to distribute it.
  • It is accurately described.
  • It does not intentionally damage computer systems.
  • It is not disguised as another application.
  • It does not include hidden malware.
  • It does not contain unauthorized backdoors.
  • It does not violate copyright or licensing agreements.

We strongly encourage members to include:

  • Version numbers
  • Release dates
  • Documentation
  • Licensing information
  • Original author credits
  • Virus scan results (if available)

Amiga.Club reserves the right to remove any uploaded file at its discretion.

6. Copyright and Licensing

Do not upload content unless you have permission to do so.

Examples include:

  • Commercial software
  • Copyrighted ROMs
  • Licensed operating systems
  • Proprietary documentation
  • Commercial manuals
  • Commercial artwork
  • Game images without authorization

Open-source software, freeware, public-domain software, and software you own the rights to may generally be shared, provided distribution complies with the applicable license.

If there is uncertainty regarding the legal status of software, moderators may remove it while the matter is reviewed.

7. User Profiles

Do not create profiles that:

  • Impersonate another person.
  • Misrepresent an organization.
  • Pretend to be Amiga.Club staff.
  • Use offensive usernames.
  • Include hateful imagery.
  • Contain malicious links.

Staff may request profile changes when necessary.

8. Forums, Blogs, and Groups

When participating in discussions:

  • Stay relevant to the topic.
  • Avoid excessive profanity.
  • Avoid intentionally misleading information.
  • Do not repeatedly post the same message.
  • Do not flood discussions.
  • Do not intentionally derail conversations.

Constructive criticism is welcome.

Disruptive behavior is not.

9. Private Messaging

Private messages are intended for legitimate communication between members.

Do not use private messages to:

  • Send spam.
  • Harass users.
  • Threaten members.
  • Scam others.
  • Solicit illegal activity.
  • Circumvent moderator actions.

Members should report abusive messages to moderators.

10. Spam

Spam is prohibited.

Examples include:

  • Repetitive posts.
  • Mass private messaging.
  • Excessive self-promotion.
  • Referral link abuse.
  • Link farming.
  • Automated posting.
  • Artificial engagement.

Reasonable promotion of genuine Amiga-related projects is generally permitted when appropriate and not excessive.

11. Advertising

Commercial advertising requires prior approval unless specifically permitted within designated community areas.

Unauthorized advertising may be removed without notice.

12. Security

You may not:

  • Attempt unauthorized access.
  • Probe or scan our systems without permission.
  • Interfere with servers.
  • Attempt denial-of-service attacks.
  • Circumvent security measures.
  • Harvest user information.
  • Collect email addresses for marketing.
  • Reverse engineer security systems.

Security research should be responsibly disclosed to site administrators.

13. Automation

You may not use automated tools, bots, scripts, or crawlers that:

  • Overload the Website.
  • Create fake accounts.
  • Manipulate rankings.
  • Scrape member data without permission.
  • Bypass rate limits.

Reasonable indexing by legitimate search engines is permitted.

14. File Downloads

Users download files at their own risk.

Although administrators may review uploaded content, Amiga.Club cannot guarantee every file is free from defects or compatible with every system.

Members are encouraged to:

  • Verify file integrity.
  • Scan downloads with current antivirus software.
  • Use caution when executing unknown software.

15. Reporting Violations

Members are encouraged to report:

  • Spam
  • Harassment
  • Copyright infringement
  • Malware
  • Offensive content
  • Fraud
  • Security vulnerabilities
  • Abuse of community features

Reports should be made using the Report feature or by contacting site administrators.

Please do not publicly “call out” other members. Allow moderators to review reports fairly.

16. Enforcement

Violations may result in one or more of the following actions:

  • Friendly reminder
  • Content editing
  • Content removal
  • Formal warning
  • Temporary posting restrictions
  • Temporary suspension
  • Permanent account ban
  • Removal of uploaded files
  • Reporting to legal authorities when required

Moderators will generally attempt to resolve issues fairly, but severe violations may result in immediate action.

17. Appeals

If you believe moderation action was taken in error, you may submit an appeal through the Contact page.

Appeals should include:

  • Your username
  • The action being appealed
  • A clear explanation of why you believe the decision should be reconsidered

Submission of an appeal does not guarantee reversal of the decision.

18. Changes to This Policy

We may revise this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time to reflect changes in community standards, legal requirements, or website features.

The Effective Date at the top of this page will be updated whenever significant revisions are made.

Continued use of Amiga.Club after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
